Brachytherapy of the prostate is a special form of cancer treatment in which tiny radioactive radiation sources (seeds) are implanted directly into the prostate gland, which is located near the bladder. These seeds continuously emit low-dose radiation that specifically destroys cancer cells in the prostate while largely sparing surrounding healthy tissue.
