Animation matrix metalloproteases in wound management

Animations and illustrations for the use of the wound dressing HydroClean (plus) for the control of matrix metalloproteases in the treatment of chronic wounds.

3D animation and illustrations of excessive activity of matrix metallo-proteases (MMPs) in chronic wounds. The proteases also degrade healthy tissue. More and more tissue fragments are produced. These are bound to the receptors of the neutrophil granulocytes, which results in the release of further matrix metallo-proteases. This blocks the healing process.

The second part of the animation shows the binding of excess matrix metallo-proteases and their cofactors in the wound dressing (HydroClean), which restores the balance in the wound.
