In this section of our website we present some selected productions in the form of short "making-Of's". This examples show productions of topics such as medical illustrations for print ads, exhibition design, operating instructions, website design, online training, medical apps, patient education films, TV animations, stereoscopic movies, etc.
Together with Engelhard Arzneimittel, MedicalGraphics developed two illustrations on the mode of action of the antibiotic tyrosur. In the following we describe the process, which was characterized in particular by the communication with the medical consultants.

The Hirslanden AG is a hospital group in Switzerland consisting of 14 hospitals with more than 7,000 employees. For the information of their patients before surgery, the hospital group was planning the use of patient films to explain the topic of anesthesia. In collaboration with Snap Film AG we created an explanatory film, which showed the common techniques used during anesthesia, as well as the possible risks.
The AQ Implants GmbH wanted to illustrate their orthopedic surgical guide with pictures of their revision endoprosthesis to describe different surgical procedures. For this purpose, MedicalGraphics produced a series of illustrations showing the surgical steps required during the installation of an orthopedic implant. In particular, the anatomical and spatial correctness was of essential importance.
We created for a renowned manufacturer of diabetes diagnostic devices, some 3D animation of their latest blood glucose meters. These films should be shown at exhibitions and conferences on big-screen monitors, but should also be used by sales representatives on IPADs. Due to the different requirements, varying concepts were designed and implemented.
The St.VincenzGruppe with 2,200 employees and 1067 beds support various hospitals and health centers in the Ruhrgebiet. To explain the complex surgical intervention of the "complete laparoscopic, thoracoscopic Ivor Lewis esophagectomy" the St. Anna Hospital Herne required a way to explain the procedure to patients. Also Dr. Albayrak as the leading surgeon wanted a way to show his procedure at educational events and lectures. Within this surgery the esophagus is partically removed and parts of the stomach take over its function.
Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals is one of the "big players" among the pharmaceutical companys and markets its products in more than 100 countries with annual revenues (2011) of around 10 billion euros. For their website http://www.bayerpharma.com Bayer needed uniformly designed illustrations showing indication of therapeutic areas.
Engelhardt Arzneimittel is an international company with more than 300 employees. As one of the leading brands in the OTC area, Engelhard mainly sells non-prescription pharmacy-only medicines for self-medication. For a new print campaign of cough suppressant "Prospan", whose active ingredient is obtained on the basis of ivy leaves, and under the aegis of the "Gams and Schrage Healthcare", Engelhardt needed an illustration of a breathing human figure whose lungs are made of ivy leaves.
"Gams and Schrage" is an advertising agency for pharmaceutical communications and since many years working for a number of large pharmaceutical companies. Together with the "Sabine Meusel GmbH" both partners are now concentrating their skills under the roof of "Gams & Schrage Healthcare Group". The benefits of this cooperation should be communicated graphically through an advertising campaign.
