Myomas (uterine fibroids, leiomyomas) are benign growths or nodes that can occur in the uterus (womb). A uterine polyp (endometrial polyp, uterine polyp) is an ulcer that can occur on the lining of the uterus (endometrium). This is often attached to the uterine wall by a thin shaft.

In the illustration, a uterus is shown in section to show the myomas (blue) located in the tissue. In the upper part of the uterine cavity, a uterine polyp (red) can be seen protruding into the uterine cavity.
