Colonoscopy – transparent human

colonoscopy

Description

Free schematic illustration of a colonoscopy on a transparent human figure. During a colonoscopy, a flexible endoscope (colonoscope) is inserted into the anus to scan the colon for pathological changes. Through a camera at the tip of the colonoscope, the doctor can detect abnormalities in the colon and use instruments to remove growths in the intestinal mucosa (intestinal polyps) or take tissue samples. A colonoscopy is a preventive examination for the early detection of colorectal cancer.
