Description

Illustration of a hepatitis B virus on a dark background. After infection, the hepatitis B virus (HBV) triggers an inflammation of the liver (viral hepatitis), which can become chronic and cause liver cirrhosis or hepatocellular carcinoma.

The illustration is based on structural data from “Bottcher, B., Nassal, M.” and was designed in the style of a surface model with an implied ligament model.
