Background:
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a mostly age-related enlargement of the prostate gland that causes problems with urination, among other things.
Project description:
The illustration shows the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia using holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP). A laser fiber is inserted endoscopically through the urinary tract to ablate the internal tissue of the prostate, which is then removed.
