Design of an illustration of the mode of action of the antibiotic tyrothricin. Tyrothricin is a mixture of two active substance groups, namely tyrocidin and gramicidin.
The illustration shows how tyrocidin attaches to the cell membrane of microorganisms and destroys them, while gramicidin forms cation-selective channels in the cell membrane and thus damages the bacterium.
