Key visuals for astigmatism and keratoconus

Key visuals on corneal topography in keratoconus and astigmatism. Key visual for light refraction in intraocular lenses.

Background

Corneal topography is a procedure for detailed mapping of the corneal surface of the eye and is carried out using a keratograph. It provides precise information about the shape, curvature and structure of the cornea, which is crucial for the diagnosis and treatment of various eye diseases – such as keratoconus or astigmatism.

Illustrations

Design of 3 key visuals for an advertising campaign. The design of the illustrations was based on the technical, abstract style developed for the project “Key visual corneal topography and tomography”.

The first KeyVisual focuses on the results of a corneal topography in keratoconus (corneal cone), i.e. a progressive protrusion and thinning of the cornea of the eye.

The second illustration visualizes the results of a corneal topography in the case of astigmatism, i.e. a distortion of the light entering the eye due to an uneven shape of the cornea.

The third illustration visualizes in abstract, technical form the refractive behaviour of light rays from an intraocular lens (IOL – artificial lens).
