Blood glucose measurement is a routine diagnostic method for monitoring blood glucose levels in people with diabetes mellitus or other conditions that may affect blood glucose. The measurement is performed by drawing a small amount of blood and determining the glucose level in the blood.

Blood glucose measurement by puncturing is usually performed on the fingertip. In a 3D animation, we show how a small needle housed in a lancet device is inserted into the skin to draw a small amount of blood.
