Animation proton pump inhibitor

3D animation on the function of the proton pump inhibitor "esomaprazole" on the cells of the stomach wall.

Proton pump inhibitors are a class of medications used to reduce stomach acid production. They work by blocking the proton pumps in the cells of the stomach that are normally responsible for releasing stomach acid. This significantly reduces acid production, which can be helpful in treating gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and other gastrointestinal disorders.

In a mode-of-action animation, we showed the uptake of the proton pump inhibitor “Esomeprazole” in the small intestine and its effect on the vestibular cells (parietal cell) on the gastric wall.
